Uninterrupted repair work with EQUANS - Our LINESTOP bypass service for the Lugano hospital

Together with our valued customer EQUANS, we have ensured an uninterrupted cooling supply at Lugano's municipal hospital, the Ospedale Regionale di Lugano, Civico. Our exclusive LINESTOP Bypass Service was used to ensure a continuous supply of cold water to the machines in the hospital.

The extensive work assignment took place in the hospital's plant room and lasted a total of seven working days. Five of these were at night and two during the day. Our LINESTOP Bypass Service was needed because existing ball valves were no longer functional and had to be replaced. Maximum precision and accuracy were required during the operation, as there was no alternative on site to ensure the hospital's continuous cooling supply.

In this project, we stopped and rerouted eight pipes in succession, including six with DN 125 and one each with DN 80 and DN 65. For this purpose, a LINESTOP was inserted before and after the damaged ball valve and these were then connected with a bypass. This allowed our customer to cut out the damaged ball valves without interruption and replace them with new ones. We would like to thank EQUANS for the order and the excellent cooperation.

With the LINESTOP Bypass Service, we offer an efficient solution in Switzerland for carrying out maintenance or extension work on certain pipe sections without having to interrupt the entire energy supply. By installing two LINESTOPs before and after the relevant pipe section, it is securely sealed. A bypass installed in parallel ensures the continuous energy supply to your line.
