BRUGG Pipes faced a special challenge for the expansion of the district heating supply in St. Moritz: laying a new district heating pipeline without disrupting traffic in the well-known tourist region during the day. To avoid closing an important road, the team decided to carry out the installation work at night.
Thanks to careful planning and precise co-operation between all those involved, the work was carried out smoothly. The CASAFLEX pipe was laid between the Scala cinema and the Hotel Kulm between 20:00 in the evening and 02:00 in the morning. Thanks to the precise coordination and commitment of our fitters, the schedule was adhered to exactly. The trench was closed again immediately after the pipe was laid, so that the road was passable the next morning without any problems.
The CASAFLEX pipe system from BRUGG Pipes was chosen for the complex installation. With its spiral-shaped inner pipe and corrugated outer casing, CASAFLEX enables tight bending radii and is designed for high temperatures and pressures - ideal for use in demanding district heating networks such as the one in St. Moritz.
Special thanks go to everyone involved for the perfect organisation and reliable teamwork that successfully implemented this time-critical project.
