A sustainable energy concept with customised pipe technology: a modern district heating and cooling system with CALPEX PUR-KING and CASAFLEX pipes was implemented for the new fire station at the Centro Manutenzioni in San Bernardino (canton of Graubünden).
Perfect combination of flexibility and efficiency
The installation was carried out in several construction phases from September 2024. 48 metres of CALPEX PUR-KING with the dimensions 75+75/202 (DN 65) and 63+63/182 (DN 50) were laid to connect the heat pumps to the building.
In addition, an 86 metre long CASAFLEX UNO (DN 65) was installed to regenerate geothermal probes using solar collectors. This concept enables the maximum utilisation of renewable energies and ensures a sustainable heat supply.
Challenges and precise implementation
Laying the pipes required precise coordination, particularly due to the challenging topography and the specific requirements of the solar collectors and heat pumps. Thanks to the excellent cooperation between the engineers, partners and installation teams, the project was realised on schedule and professionally.
