FLEXSTAR is an ideal heat pump line for small to medium heat pump networks, small district heating systems and heat pipe upgrades within buildings.
To ensure success when connecting a heat pump, the heat pump pipes must first be seamlessly integrated into the existing heating or cooling loop. If you opt for our innovative FLEXSTAR pipe solution, we will gladly assist you in selecting suitable valves and connections to ensure a long-lasting and, above all, smooth energy flow after commissioning. An optimal piping system minimises pressure losses and promotes efficient heat transfer. Our pre-insulated FLEXSTAR low-temperature system is insulated with high-quality PUR high-pressure foam, achieving a lambda value of 0.024 W/m*K. This value is more than 40 per cent lower than the thermal conductivity of conventional PE insulation. Moreover, the highly flexible and corrosion-resistant PE-Xa carrier pipe allows for tight bending radii during installation, making FLEXSTAR quick and easy to install. Despite its flexibility, this system demonstrates exceptional mechanical stability, even when exposed to repeated stresses over many years of use.
All FLEXSTAR systems are available as sets or can be delivered in the desired length, either as continuous loops or on a drum, directly to the construction site. We tailor each package, including accessories and tools, to the requirements of your project.
The market now offers various systems for heat pump connections, with measurable efficiency being a crucial criterion for purchasing decisions. Yet, the true efficiency of a pipe system reveals itself not only during regular operation, but also during the installation work, where time and cost savings are paramount. And both are guaranteed thanks to the latest additions to the FLEXSTAR accessory range. The newly developed BRUGG Pipes sealing solutions, such as our EPDM end caps (UV-resistant; for UNO and DUO models) and our wall sealing ring with cable entries (double-sealed against water pressure up to 0.3 bar and gas-tight), set new standards for smooth and rapid heat pump installation.
Our innovative clip shells (available in T, I, and L shapes) can significantly streamline the installation process. These plastic components can be effortlessly attached at the designated connection points without the need for tools. Furthermore, with our durable clip shells you can easily and reliably reinsulate the pipes whenever necessary. Routine maintenance also becomes straightforward with this technology, requiring just a few simple steps. Regardless of whether the system utilises water and/or air heat pump technology, or geothermal energy: properly pre-insulated pipes are an essential requirement. With regard to the integrated pipe system, it makes no difference whether the renewable energy is harnessed from the air, water or the ground. In a nutshell: the source of the environmental heat doesn’t affect the system’s performance or efficiency, as the conducted heat remains constant after conversion.
This is because the pipes exclusively transport the utilised thermal energy from the system to the point of consumption and back again – in almost all cases underground. Therefore, flexible yet robust and corrosion-resistant pipe systems are required to accommodate curvy and winding pipelines. Due to the significant differences between the fluctuating temperature inside the pipe and the temperature of the surrounding environment, high-quality insulation is essential. This minimises heat loss and directly impacts the system’s efficiency. As mentioned above, FLEXSTAR boasts excellent thermal conductivity – with an average lambda value 40 per cent lower than that of conventional PE insulation.
